We have some praise reports! During our weekly check up today, we found out so many great things.1. Coltrane's levels are really good2. We can stop giving him the daily shots that boost his red/white blood cells3. We don't have to get any blood work done until next chemo treatment4. He's gaining weight (The doctors want him to gain a couple of pounds before he has the bone marrow transplant. If he doesn't gain the weight, they would have to give him a feeding tube)Coltrane has a hearing check up this Friday. Please pray that his hearing is not being effected by the chemo. Thanks so much for your prayers and support. We love you and have a great week! God is so very good.Love,JustinSonjaJackand Coltrane the Night Owl
Coltrane was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma in May of 2014. After multiple scans, they discovered a tumor in his abdominal area, by his kidney. He has a tumor that is visible on the outside of his skull. He may also have tumors in other areas, possibly by his mandible and humerus bone. Coltrane's treatment plan will include several cycles of chemo, possible surgery to remove the abdominal tumor, stem cell harvesting and transplant, and radiation.

Coltrane Update
Hey everyone,
I wanted to update you on what's going on with our son Coltrane. Our last chemo session was really short. It was awesome! The session lasted three days and we escaped on the third day. ;) We had our favorite nurses tending to us as well. We had visitors who made the stay that much more pleasant. Our doctor showed up one day and gave us a gift card to Starbucks, which was a wonderful gift. This session was a little different. The chemo was red and is known to cause some problems with the heart later on in life.
We are home now and we are doing pretty well. We are enjoying every minute here. We are in between chemo sessions. His blood counts are low so he's pretty clingy to Sonja and whiny too. Poor little man. We also have to give him a shot every day to boost his blood cell count. This is very horrible. Most of the time he is in great spirits. He laughs a lot and loves to play. It's encouraging to see him playing so hard. We are having fun watching our two beautiful sons growing to love each other and bond in a special way (when they're not at each other's throats. ;). God is giving us a lot of glimpses of blue skies in the midst of the storm.
Coltrane has an appointment tomorrow to check his levels. He might have to receive a blood transfusion which will take around four extra hours.
Please pray for our stress levels. Pray for Coltrane to not be effected by the chemo negatively. The chemo he is receiving is hard on the heart, kidneys, ears, and his ability to have children. Please pray against these things. Also, pray that he won't need any blood transfusions, surgeries, or radiation. Pray for our attitudes, our humility, and our witness. We need to focus on Jesus and not on the storm. It's hard, but we believe He is our deliverer, our comforter, our healer, and our rock and hiding place.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support!
In Christ's Love,
Justin,
Sonja,
Jackson,
and Coltrane the Magnificent.
